The Baltic Sea Region is like a mosaic of the diverse regions and the Baltic Sea connects people across national borders.
But how do people live along national borders? How do they define their identity and culture?
How do they deal with ethnic minorities and immigrants?
Is identity something fixed, predetermined or in constant change?
And is the situation at a national border a burden or an opportunity?

We want to explore these questions using the example of the German-Danish border region - a region that formed one united region over many centuries and is now divided between Germany and Denmark. Baltic Sea regional cooperation is of utmost importance for tackling challenges today and finding solutions
for tomorrow. The Baltic Sea Youth Dialogue 2018 aims to make regional cooperation relevant for the future generations. Therefore, we offer a five-day session of seminars and workshops at Academia Baltica in Oeversee, Germany, to students from the Baltic Sea Region and beyond.
